Profile and sign-in

The “Profile and sign-in” tab is about you as a person rather than an organization: photo, first and last name, email, password and the services you can use to sign in without a password. These settings apply to the whole account and don't depend on which organization is selected.

Where to find it

hi.datool.ru/profile/ — the “Profile and sign-in” tab of the account, the “Profile and sign-in” item in the “Account profiles” menu, or the “Photo, name and sign-in methods” link on Overview.

  1. Account card — photo, name, email and role.
  2. “First and last name”.
  3. “Email and password”.
  4. “Sign in with services” — Yandex ID, MAX, VK ID.

Account card and photo

On the left are your photo (or a circle with your initials), name, email and a caption: “Personal space” or your role in the current organization (“Owner”, “Administrator”, “Member”).

To upload a photo:

  1. Click “Upload photo” (if you already have one — “Replace photo”).
  2. Choose a file — it is saved immediately; there's no separate button to press.

PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF files up to 900 KB are accepted. The photo is cropped to a square around the centre, so keep your face in the middle of the frame. To delete the photo, click “Remove photo” — your initials will be shown again.

The photo appears on the account Overview, in your organization's member list and in the personal space circle in the organization switcher.

Possible errors

A file over 900 KB or a file that isn't an image — a message appears above the page and the photo doesn't change. Make the image smaller and try again.

First and last name

The “First name” and “Last name” fields (up to 150 characters each) and the “Save” button. Your name is visible to members of your organizations — in the member list and in invitations — and to you on Overview. You can leave the fields empty: then the part of your email before “@” is shown instead.

Email and password

Email

Your address is shown with a “Confirmed” or “Not confirmed” badge. Email is required: sign-in and password reset links, invitations, receipts and notifications are sent to it. You can't turn it off — only replace it with another one.

To change your email:

  1. Click “Change email”.
  2. If you haven't entered your password for a while, the site first asks for it again (or asks you to sign in with the service again) — protection in case someone sits down at your open computer.
  3. Enter the “New email address” and click “Send confirmation”.
  4. Open the email at the new address and follow the link.

Until the new address is confirmed, the old one stays active: you can sign in with it and emails go to it. Meanwhile the change page shows that the new address is waiting for confirmation, with two buttons — “Send the email again” and “Cancel the change”. After confirmation the new address replaces the old one, and an “Email changed” message is sent to the old one.

Password

  • “Change password” — if you have a password: enter the current one and the new one twice.
  • “Set a password” — if you signed up with Yandex ID or MAX and have no password. After that you can also sign in with email and password.

Password requirements are the same as at sign-up: at least 8 characters, not digits only, not from the list of common passwords and not similar to your email (“Sign-up and sign-in”).

Sign in with services

Sign-in service cards: Yandex ID, MAX, VK ID
Sign-in service cards: Yandex ID, MAX, VK ID

A connected service lets you sign in with one button, without a password. Each card shows the service name and its state:

  • “Connected” with your account in that service under the name; a “Disconnect” button on the right;
  • “Can be connected for quick sign-in” and a “Connect” button;
  • “Coming soon” — the service isn't enabled on the site yet and there's no button (this is how VK ID looks now).

Connect Yandex ID: click “Connect” → allow sign-in on the Yandex page → you return to “Profile and sign-in”, and the card shows “Connected”.

Connect MAX: click “Connect” → a page opens with an “Open the bot in MAX” button, a QR code and a 6-digit code → in the datool.ru bot, confirm the sign-in → return to the site. The request lives for 10 minutes. A linked MAX account is also needed for main bot notifications (“Notifications and the main bot”).

Disconnect a service: click “Disconnect” and confirm in the “Disconnect the service?” dialog. You won't be able to sign in with that service until you connect it again.

You can't disconnect your last sign-in method

If you have no password and only one service is connected, you can't disconnect it — otherwise you couldn't sign in. First click “Set a password” or connect another service.

Re-entering your password

Changing your email and connecting or disconnecting services must be confirmed: if you haven't entered your password in the last 5 minutes, the site asks for it again and then continues the action itself.

Security emails

Every change to how you sign in triggers an email — if it wasn't you, you'll know right away:

  • “Password changed”, “Password set”, “Password reset”;
  • “Email changed” — sent to the previous address;
  • “Social sign-in linked” and “Social sign-in unlinked” — with the service name.

The email says when and from which address the change was made. If it wasn't you, reset your password immediately (“Sign-up and sign-in”) and contact support.
