Categories and regions
Every channel in the datool.ru catalog is assigned to topics (categories) and to a territory — a country, region or city. With them you can find, for example, all news channels of the Krasnodar Territory or large cooking channels. Category and region pages are open to everyone, without signing in.
Where to find it: all categories are at https://max.datool.ru/categories/ (the “Categories” quick link on the home page and the “Categories” tab in “Ratings”). There is no separate page listing all regions: territories open from the labels on channel cards, from the breadcrumbs and from the “Russia” page.
How a channel gets categories and a territory
- A channel has up to five categories, one of them is the main one. The main category is shown as a label on the channel card and in the ratings; in category lists a channel appears under both its main and additional categories.
- The territory is one: the most precise known node of the tree “country → federal district → region → city”. Cities exist only for Russia; other countries have only the country itself.
- Categories and the territory are first suggested by automatic classification based on the channel title and description, then checked by a moderator. Automation never overrides a human decision.
- The channel owner, after verification, chooses the categories and territory of their channel — automation does not override that choice either.
- Found a wrong category or region on someone else’s channel? Use “Report an inaccuracy” on the channel page.
The category list has 66 topics, from news and media to gardening, including an “Other” category. Category names are currently shown in Russian on the English version of the site. How classification works is explained in Categories and territories.
All categories

From top to bottom:
- Tabs “All ratings”, “Channels”, “Mentions”, “Collections”, “Today”, “Categories” — switch between the ratings sections (see Ratings and collections).
- “Largest” — the six categories with the most channels, as large cards.
- “All categories” — all 66 topics in alphabetical order: picture, name and number of channels. Categories without channels yet are shown too — channels will appear there as classification goes on.
- Footnote: a channel can have up to five categories, so the sum over all categories is larger than the total number of channels. Channel counters are updated once a day.

Category page
The address is https://max.datool.ru/categories/<code>/, for example the news and media category. The breadcrumbs at the top read “Home / Channel catalog / category name”.

The list contains channels for which this category is the main or an additional one. Filters:
- “Title or link” — search inside the category by part of a title or @handle.
- “Territory” — only channels of the selected country, federal district or region (together with all nested territories). Cities are not in this list — there are hundreds of them; to see a city, open its page (see below).
- “Audience size” — “Any size”, “Under 10 thousand”, “10–50 thousand” or “Over 50 thousand” subscribers.
- “Sort” — “By audience” (more subscribers first) or “By quality index” (a channel score from 0 to 100). The order changes right after you pick it.
How to use it: choose the filter values and click “Search”. The line above the cards shows how many channels match. A “Reset filters” link appears next to “Search” — it brings back the full list. If nothing matches, the page says “No channels match these filters” — remove some filters.
Channel cards are the same as in the catalog: avatar, title, description, category and territory labels, subscribers and number of collected posts.
List pages
A page shows 30 channels. Under the list are page numbers and the “←” and “→” arrows. Filters are kept when you move between pages.

Tip
You can copy the link to a filtered list from the browser address bar and send it to a colleague — the same filters will open.
Region page
The address is https://max.datool.ru/regions/<code>/, for example Krasnodar Territory. You get here by clicking the territory label on a channel card, or from “Russia”, going down through nested territories.

- Breadcrumbs follow the territory tree: “Home / Channel catalog / Russia / Southern Federal District / Krasnodar Territory”. Click any link to open a larger territory.
- The label above the title shows the level: country, federal district, region or city.
- “Inside:” — nested territories that have channels (regions of a district, cities of a region), with the number of channels. Click to open a nested territory.
- The list shows channels of the territory itself and of all nested ones: the Krasnodar Territory page shows channels of Krasnodar and of Sochi as well.
- Filters are the same as on a category page, except that you choose a “Category” instead of a territory: search by title, category, audience size, sorting, 30 channels per page.
The “Adult (18+)” section
The adult (18+) category is open only to adults. The first time you open its page, or a channel or post page from this category, the site covers the page with the “Enter your date of birth” window — everything behind it is blurred.

- Click “Day”, “Month” and “Year” and pick your date of birth in the grid: days, months, years (years are paged with arrows).
- Click “Continue”.
- If you are 18 or older, the same page opens. If not, you are taken to the showcase home page.
If the date is incomplete, you will see “Choose the day, month and year.”; if such a date does not exist — “This date does not exist — check the day and month.”. The “Go to the home page” button leaves the section without the check.
Note
Age is calculated from today’s date; the date of birth itself is not stored anywhere. The confirmation lasts until you close the browser and works only on max.datool.ru: after a browser restart the window appears again.
