My channels

“My channels” is the tab with the MAX channels your organization has verified through the datool.ru bot. Here you see all the numbers of your own channels for the selected period — without a subscription; here you also verify a new channel and set its categories and territory.

Where to find it

The address is https://max.datool.ru/my/channels/, the second tab of the “My MAX” section. The “Confirm channel rights” buttons on “Overview” and “Private channels” lead here too. The shared parts of the section (organization switcher, tabs, footer) are described in Overview.

The tab is available after signing in (free). The channels on it belong to the current organization: if you are a member of several, each has its own list. Switch the organization in the “Account profiles” menu to the right of the heading.

Why verify a channel

Verification proves the channel is yours: you make the datool.ru bot an administrator of the channel, and we assign the channel to your organization. After that:

  • the channel gets the blue badge “Ownership of this channel is verified by datool.ru” in the catalog;
  • you see everything about the channel itself for free: daily subscribes and unsubscribes, audience analysis, quality index history and the other blocks marked “Free for the channel owner once the channel is verified”. Market comparisons (similar channels, ads, mentions) need a subscription, as for everyone;
  • numbers and charts of your channels appear on “Overview” and here, and the paid columns of the section’s tables are open for your channels;
  • you set the channel’s categories and territory yourself — automatic labeling no longer changes them;
  • the channel’s statistics are updated more often;
  • a private channel starts showing up in statistics — without the bot as an administrator we can’t see it.

What verification gives and how the check works is described in detail in Ownership verification.

How to verify a channel: the “Add your channel” block

At the bottom of the tab is the “Add your channel” block. If you have no channels yet, the tab consists of this block only. If you do, the “+ Confirm channel” button to the right of the totals leads to it.

The “Add your channel” block: link field, “Check” button, hint and three steps
The “Add your channel” block: link field, “Check” button, hint and three steps
  1. Link field — paste the MAX channel link here.
  2. “Check” — finds the channel by the link.
  3. Hint — which links work. It also shows the datool.ru bot’s name: clicking the name copies it, so it’s easier to find the bot in MAX.
  4. Three verification steps: “Channel link”, “The code and the datool.ru bot”, “Blue badge and all numbers”.

Public channel

  1. Paste a link like https://max.ru/channel_name or just the channel name into the field and click “Check”.
  2. The channel’s verification page opens with a one-time code (for example, DT-7K3M-Q2). The code is valid for 30 minutes and tied to your organization and this channel.
  3. Click “Open the bot in MAX” — the code is sent to the bot automatically (or copy the code and send it to the bot as a message). The bot tells you which channel will be assigned to which organization.
  4. Add the bot as a channel administrator — the right to read messages is enough — and press “Check” in the bot.
  5. Done: the verification page refreshes by itself, the channel appears in this list and in the catalog with the blue badge. The organization receives a “Channel verified” email.

If you can’t add the bot to the channel, a public channel has a fallback: paste the code into the channel description and click “Check description” on the verification page. You can remove the code from the description afterwards.

Private channel

A private channel has no public link, so the order is different:

  1. Add the datool.ru bot as an administrator of your private channel in MAX (the bot’s name is in the hint under the field).
  2. Paste the channel’s invite link (https://max.ru/join/…, you’ll find it in the channel settings in MAX) into the field and click “Check”.
  3. Under the field you’ll see “Looking up the channel by the invite link — this usually takes a few seconds…”. The page follows the lookup by itself, you don’t need to click anything.
Looking up a channel by an invite link: “Looking up the channel…” under the field
Looking up a channel by an invite link: “Looking up the channel…” under the field
  1. If the bot is already an administrator of the channel, you go straight to the verification page with the code — from there it’s the same as for a public channel.
  2. If the bot is not an administrator yet, under the field you’ll see “Channel “…” was found, but the datool.ru bot is not its admin yet” with a hint on what to do. Make the bot an administrator (if it’s already a channel member, just promote it) and click “Check again”. If MAX didn’t say whether the bot is an admin, the same button appears — try again in a minute.

There’s also a second path for a private channel: when you add the bot as an administrator, it sends you a “Confirm channel” button in MAX with a link to the verification page.

Only you see the private channel’s name

The invite link lookup is tied to your organization: other users won’t learn the channel’s name or that you checked it.

Errors and limits

If the link doesn’t fit, an explanation appears below the field, and what you typed stays in the field so you can fix it:

Error: the field doesn’t contain a channel link — a hint under the field

Message What it means and what to do
Enter a channel link like https://max.ru/channel_name… The field contains neither a link nor a channel name. Copy the link from MAX
The invite link is not valid… The link was revoked or has a typo. Take a current one in the channel settings
This is a link to a group chat, not a channel Only a channel can be verified; chats can’t
New channels can be checked no more than 10 times an hour… We look up channels that aren’t on the site yet in MAX no more than 10 times an hour per organization (and 20 times an hour per person across all their organizations). Channels already known to the site are checked without limits. Wait and try again
MAX did not respond / We can’t look up the channel by this link right now… A temporary failure. Try again in a minute or in a few minutes

A channel can belong to only one organization. If another organization verifies the channel, the previous verification is removed and the previous owner receives an email. If that’s a mistake, contact support.

Your channels table

Once the organization has verified channels, a header with periods, a totals strip and a table appear above the “Add your channel” block. To see how it looks with numbers, open the demo channel https://max.datool.ru/demo/ — its data are made up and everything is unlocked.

Header and period

The “My channels” heading with the number of channels, below it — “Ownership is confirmed via the bot. All numbers of your own channels are open even without a subscription.” and the period in words. On the right — the period selector 7 days · 30 days · 90 days · Year · All time · Custom dates, 7 days by default. An owner has all periods except “Custom dates” — the calendar needs a Premium or Business subscription. When you scroll down, the header sticks to the top of the screen. Changing the period keeps the table’s search and sorting.

Totals strip

Below the header are four numbers for all your channels for the period: subscribers, views, ERR and posts per day, each with a badge showing the change against the same previous period. These are the same numbers as on Overview, calculated the same way. On the right is the “+ Confirm channel” button that scrolls the page to the “Add your channel” block.

Search and sorting

Above the table:

  • Search by name — the “Find a channel” field keeps the channels whose name contains the text;
  • Sort — a list of columns; the choice re-sorts the table immediately. By default — by subscribers, largest first;
  • “Descending” / “Ascending” — reverses the order;
  • “N of M” — how many channels are shown out of all.

You can also sort by clicking a column header; clicking again reverses the order. Empty values always go last. All channels are on one page, without paging.

Columns

Column What it shows
Channel Avatar, name (a link to the channel page), the blue badge, the green A+ shield (the channel is in the Roskomnadzor register), @handle and category and territory tags
Subscribers How many subscribers now
Growth Change in subscribers for the period: green — growth, red — decline
Views Views of posts published in the period
Avg. reach Average views per post — for posts older than two days
ERR Share of subscribers who see a post
Posts How many posts were published in the period
QI Quality index; a dash with the tooltip “Score unavailable: not enough data” when there isn’t enough data for a confident score
Last post How long ago the latest post was published

A dash “—” means there’s no data. The note under the table reminds you that the numbers are for the selected period, as on the channel page. Reach and ERR are explained in Basic metrics.

On a phone the table turns into cards: subscribers, growth and ERR on the card, the rest under “All metrics”.

Category and territory tags

Under the channel name are tags: categories (the primary one first, with a colored border) and the territory. If something isn’t set, a dashed orange “+ category” or “+ territory” tag stands in its place: you can see right away which channel is missing labels. Clicking any tag opens the “Categories and territory” page.

The “⋯” menu

At the end of the row is a “⋯” button with actions:

  • Open statistics — the channel page with all tabs;
  • Categories and territory — edit the labels (see below);
  • Remove confirmation (in red) — opens the channel’s verification page, where you confirm the removal once more. After that the channel loses the blue badge and disappears from this list, and its owner data (the subscriber list used for audience analysis) is deleted. The owner or an administrator of the organization can remove the confirmation.

Categories and territory

The page for editing your channel’s labels is https://max.datool.ru/my/channels/<number>/taxonomy/. It opens from the “⋯” menu, from the tags under the channel name, and from the “You own this channel” window on the channel page itself — there the same form opens in a window, and after saving the channel page refreshes with the new categories. The breadcrumbs are “Home / My channels / Categories and territory”. Only a member of the owner organization can edit.

At the top are the channel name (a link to its page) and the “Now” block: what is currently set — primary category, additional ones, territory. Below is a three-step form.

1. Primary category

The channel’s main topic: it puts the channel into the catalog and category ratings. The button shows the selected category with its picture; clicking it opens the list of all categories with pictures and the number of channels in each. The “Find a category” field narrows the list by name. The “Not selected” option removes the primary category.

2. Additional categories

Up to 4 more topics the channel covers — no more than 5 categories together with the primary one. Optional. The categories are shown as checkbox tags with pictures, with a search and a “Selected: N of 4” counter above them. Once four are selected, the remaining tags are disabled. You can’t choose additional categories without a primary one — the site will reply “Choose the main category first.”.

3. Territory

The most precise place the channel belongs to: a city if the channel is about a city; a region or country if broader. The button shows the current territory; clicking it opens a search — start typing a name (at least two letters, for example “Saratov”). Each result has a level icon, the name, a clarification (a city’s region, a region’s country) and the level — “City”, “Region” — so you don’t confuse a city with a region of a similar name. Up to 15 results are shown, larger territories first. The “No territory” row (if a territory is already set) removes it. If you don’t touch anything, the territory stays as it was.

The directory has cities only for Russia; for other countries you select the country itself. The list of categories and how the territory directory works are described in Categories and territories.

Saving

The “Save” button saves the labels and returns you to the “My channels” tab with the message “Channel categories and territory saved.” in the status line. “Cancel” returns without changes.

Your choice beats automation

Categories and territory set by the owner are never overridden by automatic labeling. They appear right away on the channel page, in the catalog and in category ratings.
